Why Do We Take Things For Granted

Why do we now a days. I guess we are just use to whatever we have. Like people take it for granted their friends. You just assume they will be your friend and be there when you need them or want them, til you turn around and find out they're really not the friend you thought they were. One big thing we take for granted,is our health. We go around thinking I won't get sick. That won't happen to me. I won't get that sickness ,my body's immune system is to good. Then all of a sudden you come down with it and it's a big shock. You ask yourself how did I get this? I don't get sick like this. And the biggest thing we take for granted is our body. What do I mean? I'm talking about body parts. Our legs and arms. We wake up everyday and just go on with our lives, but can you just imagine. Losing a leg or both or an arm or even both of them. Not being able to walk again. Or even speak, see or hear for that matter. That would be a real bummer. I would think. After all these years of doing it. And now it's gone for good. Knowing that you have to have someone wait on you hand and foot. That would drive me crazy. Then if you were that bad, would you be put in the hospital or a so called nursing home? Or even better one of those rehabilitation center? Which some of those are not the greatest, especially if it's run by the state. Now what about  losing your job that plays a big part too. You lose your job, things come to mind. How am I going to pay my bills? Then comes the fear,is how do I make the mortgage payment or rent for that matter? So I guess we really should not take things for granted. I know I'm not after writing this hub.

I took my ex girlfriend for granted. I wish I hadn't. I miss her so much.
